Interest in the strength and durability of externally reinforced GRP panel tanks has broadened and they are increasingly being used for fire hydrant and sprinkler systems in new buildings and as replacements where steel tanks have corroded over time. GRP - glass reinforced polymer - is a high grade fibreglass made in heat pressed match moulds. As such, GRP panel tanks meet the standards of AS2118.1 and AS3500.1 for pump suction, fire hydrant, fire sprinkler and general water storage (ASNZS4020).
DematecWater can quote to demolish and replace corroded mild steel or stainless steel panel tanks with externally reinforced GRP tanks, as well as pricing for new sites. Vortex inhibitors (anti-vortex or anti-cavitation plates) can be supplied in stainless steel, GRP and uPVC, to MFS standards.
